Domestic violence is when an individual “uses intentional violence, threats, force or intimidation to control and manipulate a family member, partner or former partner.”
Some families suffer from occasional violence within couple violence while some are terrorized by patriarchal terrorism. Patriarchal terrorism is close to what is normally called abuse of women and involves persistance use of physical and mental violence as a part of a more comprehensive power and control regime.
